Still waiting for the rumored beamer attachment for these. That will be sweet.

Been playing with it. Unfortunately, I'm doing renovations and my desktop with my software is disconnected until my work area is fixed. Hopefully next month.

Definitely innovative. Ease of use can't get any easier and very secure. But feel free to ask questions.

The only 'real' question I have is, what the heck is that yellow, rubber looking bit in the layout you posted? :D

That and how easy is it to set up and combine the flash gels? Are they all 1/4 strength and you can add them together for stronger effect?

Beamer attachment? You mean this one?

Definitely looks like a bounce card. I was hoping that it would meet the stretch goal.

The yellow looking "snowman" thing allows you to attach a transmitter.

Set up is easy. Attach the MagMod to the flash and thats it. It stays on and won't budge at all. If you need to use a grip or gels, just let them "snap" to the magmod.

You can add a bunch of gels together into the gel holder. You can have just 1 gel or as many as 3-4.

The 'beemer' attachment was announced in one of the kickstarter updates as a softbox-style bounce card. Should still be quite useful.

Setting up the gels is just stupidly easy. They're about as sturdy as a credit card, so you just slip the geld-holder around (as many of them as you want) and they're in place. I can't remember the specs on the included gels off the top of my head.

I got 2 of these but haven't had the time to play with them yet. Love the gel kit.

Mine should be in this coming week. Looking forward to not having to deal with Velcro and Gaffer tape.

Yup. All my flashes have been de-velcro'd and I'm loving it!

One thing I'm having trouble with is balancing these against the weird lighting on the ship. It's a mix of 'cool' and 'white' flourescents. but it's also industrial power (so you get color shifts due to flicker) and I haven't found the right combo to accurately balance it yet. Of course, I've never found it with rosco gels either, mostly because they're such a pain that I throw a +Green on it and call it good enough.

One thing of note - my SB-800 won't fit in my brand new Orbis Ring Flash while the Magmod base is on it. But, it comes off in a second and I wouldn't be likely to be switching back and forth between the two systems.

Just got mine today. Ordered two sets. I have to say, similar to Xume adapters (same idea, different application)...these are great!

One thing I was disappointed in was the condition of the gels. Not that a few scratches is really going to make much difference, but they arrived new-in-box pretty scuffed up.
