Not a bad deal for this model. Amazon still has the price at $420 and most used ones are going for $325-$350.

A little cheaper currently at REI (if you prefer them).

Is $330 at BB for the Hero 3 BE? If so, that's not a great price. If it's a 3+ BE, smoking deal.

Really? What makes you say that? Most reviews I've read indicate the two models are almost identical and some say the wifi on the 3 is more reliable.

i have 4 hero 3 black and 2 hero 3+ black (total 6). So i do know something from first hand usage. :)

Let put it this way: if you never have the hero before than go for the 3+. If you already have the 3 then you don't need to pay extra to the 3+. There are couple new improve on the 3+ like super view and much improve on low light shooting that i love.

the coupon code at REI is 20% off for everything. That mean it is apply for the 3+ also.

Found the code: 126TAKE20

I got my Hero 3 BE on BF for $240. I love it, but I probably don't need a 3+ BE right now lol.

Thanks for the info. I have no first hand experience with gopro and will be using this for aerial footage with a phantom II. You are making me want the hero3+.

Any must have accessories? I'm used to filming on a DSLR, so I'm worried about not having a rear LCD display.

I assume BE is Black Edition; but, what is BF?

Dunno about the DJ Phantom 2 (want one, can't justify it now), but as for accessories...I went crazy and bought most of them. The ones I find most useful:

POV Pole (I like the SP Gadgets)
POV Buoy (great for anything done underwater)...oh, and get the floatie thing from GoPro
RAM Suction Cup Mount (great for mounting to a car; prefer RAM for the balljoint...I also have the GoPro and dislike the lack of adjustment freedom)
JAW clamp from GoPro..super versatile. Use it all the time.

And EXTRA BATTERIES and a dual charger (mine is from Smatree/Wasabi).

Black Friday.

Thanks. Won't help me now. At least your response saves me from checking: Bug Forum, Bird Forum, Bee Forum, Boating Forum, Bowhunting Forum, etc., etc. I've been in the military for 28 years and sometimes this place is worse for assuming people know acronyms than soldiers are.
