Been watching a few videos where people have been using the ST-E3-RT with the 600ex flashguns. I like that you can trigger each speedlite, turn them on and off and change the settings of them all from the transmitter.

However, I haven't got the £2,000 I would need to get a transmitter and three or four guns.

I've been looking around and it seems Yongnuo do a cheaper version http://www.amazon.co.uk …&sr=8-1&keywords=yn-e3-rt (external link) but I am unsure as to which flashguns it will work with. I presume the YN560iii?

I have a 430ex ii at the moment and two YN560iis. I would be happy to replace the 560iis with 560iiis if they are able to be controlled in the same way as the ST-E3-RT works.

Does any of that make sense? :)

Cheers

It kind of makes sense, unfortunately and PLEASE TAKE THIS WITH A LARGE PINT OF SALT.

the YN-ST-E3 will only work in the sense you want with the 600EX-RT.. Yongnuo is developing their version of the 600EX-RT but it is not yet on the market yet.

I'm holding out to buy the YN version of the ST-E3 and the YN version of the 600EX-RT and thinking I should be able to snag the Tx/Rx and 2 flashguns for around 400 pounds (I don't know the keyboard shortcut for pounds) roughly 550 USD I think (I'm guessing here on prices, 200 per flashgun and 150 for Tx/Rx)

The ability to remotely update all powers on all flashes remotely and use TTL when I feel it necessary is why I'm holding out hope, I've yet to see a similar solution for less money.

Cheers

Ok. So there's nothing that will do what I want it to do in that way.

I'd just save money on the transmitter (£90 instead of £300). It's the cost of the 600ex that's most prohibitive!

The YN version of the ST-E3 has been out for a few months now. Canon RT only works with Canon RT and there are no exceptions except the YN-ST-E3. The YN RT flash will be released on day.

If you want to use non RT flashes neither the ST-E3 or the YN clone will do anything for you. You need to go with optical devices like a 580 master or 3rd party RT devices that include an RT transmitter.
