I have a chance to buy a Sigma 150-500, it looks as though it hasn't been used. The person wants $800 firm, Sigma shows suggested retail at $899. Is it worth the risk of no warranty for $100? What would you guys do? Thanks for all input.

runninmann what the heck do I know? More info | Feb 28, 2014 11:17 | #4 Is that Canadian dollars? If so, that's about $720 U.S. That's not a great deal, but certainly not a rip-off. That's 20% off the B&H price of 899 US/1000 CAD

In England looking around in some good camera retailers you can pick them up for about £450.00 with 6 months warranty, new here they are around £699.00. So I would pass for 99.00 bucks.

Assuming the OP is stating Canadian dollars, the difference is $180, not $99; based on B&H price of $899 US which at current exchange rates is $1001 CAD

Yes, indeed.. but a warranty on a 150-500OS would be worth it... believe me (been there, done that)! Kel

I'm glad you said it. The sigma lottery is less of an issue than it was before if you believe the posts here, but still something to consider on a fairly complicated lens design. And I would give the new tammy a look as well.
