Thanks for the info, Pat... I can only make it on Saturday morning... Probably the first three sets... Shooting an event at Pasadena at 2pm, so I'll be leaving no later than 11:30a... Again, thanks for the breakdown of the event, good sir... I'll be shooting for the both of us... Hehehehe...

:D

I am prepped for this weekend. 400/2.8 rented since its the same price as the 300/2.8 and i got it fairly cheap. Throw on the 1.4x and I should be good to go. Now to just make it worth it.

Howdy Guys,
I'm still on track to check-out the two locations late today to see which one offers the better sunset opportunity :D.

Howdy Guys,
I'm up here at Pelican Cove right now, looking for where the sun will set. The Terranea Resort was a Bust for sunsets :-(. The sun was actually going to set almost opposite the beach (totally behind the cliffs/hills)! I'll let you know what it does here at Pelican Cove. At the moment, it doesn't look like it will be setting in a photographically useful place here either :-(.

My kings are kicking ass right now! Keep it up boys!

Dave, let us know how it looks there. I'll check the photographers ephemeris for precise sunset angles at that given location.

Howdy Dean,

Right now, I'm on the bluff above the south rim of Pelican Cove and I'll bet the sunset will pass right through the lighthouse at the north end of the rim. It's actually getting quite cool along with a medium breeze. It's probably very nice down on the beach below. Maybe another 15min more here to get it figured out.

Speaking of the lighthouse. I missed it entirely last time. Is it reachable from there? I'd love to shoot a lighthouse in the sunset. Never done it before.
