It's an awesome lens. It pretty much lives on my 6D for daily use.

When was that swell Patrick? Awesome shot!

It's hard to believe that any SoCal beach would get a wave that huge.

Great capture Pat. By the looks of that massive crashing wave I bet it sounded thunderous.

^^ I will let you all know if and when the next big one will hit. ^^

So CJ how about a recap of your thoughts on the 6D now that you have had it for a while. Likes, dislikes and such as I am seriously considerng selling my T2i and 5d and a lens or two to get one.

Of course.

Overall, I'm very happy with it.

Pros:
Pretty light weight, center point AF is very responsive, high ISO is great (very little NR up to 6400), silent shutter is very discreet.

Cons:
AF spread although the non-crosstype points are adequately sensitive in good light, don't like the placement of the custom function button, 1/40000 can sometimes be limiting (but iso 50 often counteracts that)

Overall, I've been able to shoot a broad range of stuff with the 6D and any issues I've had were user error. For basketball, it would sometimes be fooled in really quick moving points but my keeper rate was definitely high. For low light, high ISO allows me to not have to compromise on aperture and I find processing 6D jpegs appear better than my old 60D jpegs (although I don't shoot in jpeg often).

Hah perhaps limiting is the wrong word, but sometimes it catches me off guard since I'll usually have to stop down a bit. Thanks for the compliment though.

Thanks Chad, I'm sure the 5D III is the way to go but price is just too much for me so that is why I felt the 6D would be the one for me. For sports I'm thinking a 7D as they should be quite affordable if and when the new version comes out.

Hopefully we can meet up again soon and maybe I can take a few shots with it. The only thing I was iffy on was that back directional pad, seems hard to manipulate to me. Not sure why Canon keeps using that thing.

Well, not having any experience with the joystick, I find no faults to the thumb pad except it can be hard to reach with a grip on (although the joystick can't be reached at all exception being that the 5D3 has the joystick on the grip).

And if we do meet up soon, you can have a play with the 6D.

As another 6D owner, I'll chime in here and say that I agree with everything Chad just said. I have the exact same beefs with the custom fn. button, but otherwise, have not really had much to complain about.
I feel, for what I do (subjective, I know), the 6D is actually a better choice than the 5D. Newer tech and lower pricepoint, for a perfectly fine camera with great dynamic range and IQ.

Sony A7RII and a bunch of lenses.
