very nice. Question about the extension tubes, do you mostly use manual focus or does having the electronics help?

Crazy right? I wonder what happens to the people that have current rentals out at the moment.
Website is down and doors are closed.

If they are in bankruptcy the court will have the business records and my guess the renters credit card # so they may charge for the value of the lens. I would be concerned if I was sitting on a rental. But then again they could lose the paperwork and you end up with a free lens.

A fast moving late afternoon rain shower rolled through today. Big fat rain drops were coming down so I stayed under my patio cover.

For macro shots AF isn't really needed/wanted but can be used, but you may not only use the tubes macro so it's nice to have some that can AF(like using a 400 f5.6 for humming bird shots-MFD is too long to get frame filling shots without using tubes). You're going to want tubes with pins so you can have the aperture automatically stop down. Doing the work arounds are a hassle and focusing stopped down can also be a pain.

Are you the one that flys often in that crazy helicopter that moves up and down parallel and south to runway of LAX?
But you seem to be on "No man's Zone" of LAX. How in the world did you get there?

No I am not, we were just passing through LAX and it was a slow day, so they let us into their air space.

Here's another from LB

I agree that macro shots are best with manual focus even with just a macro lens as I used here. Nice one Pat and Rick your shots from above are excellent, That is something I will never be able to do because I am afraid of heights.

That's a cool shot. Was that taken over the Port directly, or over an nearby storage yard? Did you get any aerial shots of the Ports on your tour?

One note -- no 'e' in chassis.

I have several from the harbor, just having trouble going through and selecting which to use. Also thank you! I just changed it, wasn't sure on the spelling.

Yeah, the spelling isn't really intuitive. I'm involved with the ports, so I'm familiar. Also, always interested in interesting shots of port operations.

All your shots from above LA have been great. Thanks for sharing.

I agree Eric. The Sony makes my snapshots look really great. Now why couldn't I have been standing at the south rim of the Grand Canyon just as that storm passed by? :D
