Flash works great to photographs hummers since that can be used to stop motion if you keep the flash power low. Here's a quick example of one of my shots using flash and a BTS photo of my flash setup. I have a second flash out of sight behind the grill on the left and these were fired using pocket wizards.

Here's an example using the setup with black background.

I'd like to try John Wayne as well. We'll have to find a day that suits several of us.

Can't get onto POTN from work anymore as of last week. Ever since POTN moved to the new format, our firewall must not like something about it. So now I get to play catch up here in the evenings...

Must be caused by a stale DNS cache in your routers....

I can't say for sure as next weekend is kind of busy, plus I plan on shooting a meteor shower in Joshua Tree either Friday nite or Saturday nite or both. At least with John Wayne, it'll always be there. Plus isn't weekday air traffic busier?

i found that my existing link I used at work became a 404 page since the actual links changed. Are you trying to get there via the direct URL or a link?

I know the link changed. It's not that. It's our proxy at work. Won't even let me out to the site in question. We have a pretty restrictive policy and there are many sites I can't get to. I'm guessing the new POTN is missing a certificate or some such.

This site does not use SSL (i.e. "https://") for anything at the moment.

Thanks for the info, Pekka.

I doubt it's something related to the site itself. As I said, there are a ton of sites we can't get to from my office. Company policy is pretty tight. I'm just not sure how POTN went from being ok to ending up on the "non-authorized sites". But it happened exactly when the new forums were rolled out, so I suspect something changed in how the proxies perceive POTN.

They probably saw how you were one POTN all day and decided to block the site. I guess it's better than being fired? LOL
