Been up and down those roads hundreds of times, 18 is best when you want to get there fast, 38 is best for the scenery and although it has a couple of winding sections overall it's much better of a drive. It can be the faster way to go if the ski resorts are in full swing. It does go up to higher elevation and is more shady so it can be tougher to drive if there is lots of snow and ice. The best bet is like you mentioned, go slow and stop a lot. Also the more you go the more they get used to it.

Nice shots guys!
Dean, looks like you were the only one there, had the place all to yourself!

Butch, is that a recent shot? Are you out traveling?

Howdy meeko031,
When were at The Wetlands? I was there on Sunday from about 8am-10am chasing the Pelicans. There must have been 30-40 people shooting from the bridge!

Here's two of mine:

Amazing!

Howdy Rezcar,

The Pelican was about 75yds out. It was an easy shot since he got his beak stuck in the mud and stayed like that for a minute ;-)a.

@dave Weldon

...amazing captures! I was there Friday and today, I had a hunch that it was going to be crowded during the weekend! I'll keep going back this week until I get some of the brown pelicans or before the rain gets here!!!
