Howdy Rezcar,

The Pelican was about 75yds out. It was an easy shot since he got his beak stuck in the mud and stayed like that for a minute ;-)a.

Hhahahahahahha. Thanks for the back story. I needed a good laugh.

Yeah. It had been raining on and off all day Sunday, so I was pretty much alone at the Grand Park. It was great! And the wet concrete made for great reflections.

Butch, that's an awesome shot. I'm thinking of hitting up Red Rock or Valley of Fire during the Christmas break.

Here's another one from Grand Park.

Nice Pelican shots guys.

I sneak out there once in a while...

They were diving so close to the bridge a few of us got splashed. Pretty neat to see.

Howdy PixelPusher,

Yeah, out there, one does well with either 500mm and over or 70mm and under :-). They crash into the water so close to the bridge that a 500mm can't even fit their entire beak in the frame, let alone the whole Pelican .

Nicely done, Butchie. This one looks like it belongs in the Xterra's dealership brochures.

Now that really has a nice 3D quality to it Butch, well done. I had planned on visiting Valley of Fire last Tuesday but cancelled because of the rain. I'll reschedule soon though since I still haven't taken my new car out for a decent little drive yet.
