Hey Puckman, I just got back last night from the same trip. I didnt go quite as far north as Carmel though. I got to Plaskett Creek Campground and turned around. Did you see all the Elephant Seals?!!! And the views and places to explore were amazing. I wanna move up there haha

Yeah. What a wonderful and magical piece of California that is! I enjoyed it tremendously and would love to move there.

^ Nice! I love that rugged coastline, as well as the Monterey peninsula, Carmel, Pacific Grove...so nice up there, too bad the jobs are few and far between otherwise that's where I would be. :-)

Exactly. I'm totally thinking I wouldn't mind living there. But it's expensive and no jobs. So as Gene said, save up and retire!

Looks like you need to keep saving those pennies so you can move up there when your retire. Then it won't matter if there are no jobs. :-)

Taken today but this time, using my EF 70-200 f4 IS lens.

How are you getting such sharp photos of this little guy? 70-200? No extender? You couldn't possibly be very far from him and the IQ and focus look dead on!

He's gotten very used to me and will allow me to get pretty close. As it takes time to manual focus with my Canon lens mounted on the Sony body, it's a good thing for me.

A head turn back again (it looks like focus fell a little towards the back on this one...he must have leaned forward. ;-)a )

So who else woke up at their SoCal home to snow this morning?

Looks like snow levels got a lot lower than 2000', even with my house up near the top of the hills here we're not much over 1000'.

No snow here at my house and the clouds are covering most of the surrounding mountains but from what I have seen so far, there is snow on all the surrounding hills.

I would have thought you would have got some snow as well, it's even snowing on I15 which is a few 100 feet lower than my house.

It's actually still snowing and we having a couple of inches on the ground now.

I took some pictures, tried to upload one from my phone but AMAS won't let my tap on the choose file on my phone, I'll need to upload it to flickr as well as the ones from the DSLR.

It stopped a little while ago and it's already starting to melt. By the end of the snow fall it was deep enough for the snow to make that crunching noise when I walked out into the middle of my street to get a shot of the house with snow on the roof. It actually snowed here once before when I first moved here but it didn't stick like this time.

I hope the sun comes out before it's all melted so I can get a shot from the neighbor hood with the snow covered hills/mountains in the background with something other than grey sky.

Wow indeed ! A co-worker of mine was snowed in at his place up off of Ortega Hwy (south of San Juan Cap'o) - supposedly he got 10 inches (of snow, that is....;-)a

It's surprising how just a small difference in elevation can make a big difference in the snow amounts (if any). I know I'm surprised at seeing that much snow from so close to where I live and I didn't receive any.

Here are a couple from a little different point of view. I felt sorry for the little guy this morning. He must have gotten pretty cold.

a7r + Canon EF 100-400L handheld and manual focus.

Drove around and took some snap shots around town. All shot with a Nifty Fifty.
