Here are a couple I like.

One of the first aircraft I visited was "Miss Angela", one of the few remaining flyable B17's.

The bomb bay from "Miss Angela". Shot with the Canon 17-40 which I used for all the interior shots.

Fantastic shots, Gene. I need to go out there one of these days. Been to Palm Springs many times. Haven't visited the museum yet.

This was all natural lighting? Your colors look great! Nothing washed out. Well lit scenes. Perfectly colorful for those metal surfaces.

Thanks Dean. For the bombardier/navigator station, you can see that there is a work light behind the bulkhead on the left that's furnishing that warm light. The other areas of the interior just have those strip lights that are visible in the shots. The interiors were taken with my Sony a7r + Canon 17-40 lens and the iso varied from 640 to 6400.

These look very clean and sharp for high ISO. You apply NR in post? Or is that all the A7R's doing?

It's a little of both. I did use noise reduction on these but it also helps when reducing such a high resolution image into a smaller one, what noise grains that remain get very much closer together making them blend in and be barely noticeable. Of course, I can't tell you all my 'secrets' to clean images. ;-)a

One advantage I do get with the Sony camera is the ability to open up those dark areas and not worry about ugly banding and excessive noise in the shadows.

Yup. Been doing a lot of revisiting old photos lately, to reprocess. The 6D has some pretty good shadow detail, but I suspect the A7R is miles ahead in that department.

NR on the other hand, is a bit of a mystery to me. I tend to shoot a lot at ISO100 and apply no NR. Of course, that's easy when doing landscapes with a tripod. In situations such as your encountered here, i'm guessing handheld, that's a whole different ballgame. And I've generally had pretty poor results due to my inability at dialing in NR and ISO.

PS. Thx gents on the comments with the Observatory... And Owen... It wasn't too crowded when I was there...

Thanks. That was my first visit and I enjoyed it. Most of the exhibits are indoors because of its location naturally.

Thanks. It took a lot of adjustments to line myself up just so in that panel looking up at her...j/k...I didn't bother to remove myself from the shot.

Yup yup... It's my backup-backup camera; behind my 1Ds3 and 1D4... I honestly haven't used it for a few months... I think the last outing was in mid November during an NSSA Surfing event... It's been in the bag ever since...

:)

It's nice that it's constantly being worked on, modified, tweaked.
