Saw this guy in my backyard, sitting on a tree...The 100-400 can do "macro" in a sense.

Time to start collecting some FD lenses. Small, sharp and cheap, as long as you don't mind MF.

I don't plan on going that route since I'm good with what I have. Only other lens I'm thinking about is the EF 40mm pancake.

Plus why buy anything when I can just call up Dean's Lens Mobile Megastore? LOL:-P

I'm not at the megastore level, quite yet. But yeah. Almost. :)

Only reason I like some of those older FD lenses is their size/weight compared to their modern EF equivalent and the fact they can be had at bargain prices ($100 or so) for very fast glass.
I can pack the Voigtlander 15, FD 24/2.8, Voigtlander 35/1.4, FD 50/1.4 and FD 135/2 in one small shoulder bag and be good to go. And all that 1.4 or 2.0 glass makes for lovely bokeh :)

Or something like this:

Nice, I bought the A7S for low light astro and the FE lens street shooting and for shooting my son. Everything else I will use the 5D3 as usual.

Gotcha. Not switching to Sony any time soon then. I've been on the fence for 6 months now, and I'm kinda considering some different options. Either sell both the 6D and A7II and get the A7RII, or go for the Canon 5DS.
Either way, I'll be divesting both current bodies and several of the "Lens megastore" stock. It's time to simplify.

And to keep the photos going...here's a couple from today. Messing around in the backyard.

What happened to your weight loss program (for gear)? The 5DS can't be that light (never bothered to look).

Black widow underneath in the second pic?

Well, the A7II is not THAT much lighter than the 6D at the end of the day.
The lenses are smaller, but I still like having AF and 400mm range for certain situations.
And at the end of the day, you can't beat 50MP or 42MP (the A7RII) in terms of resolution for printing, or even having some leeway with cropping. I'd like to take that jump up in resolution. Just not sure which system to stick to. Each has its pros and cons. And doing both may be kind of expensive (both of those bodies are north of $3000) so I'm better off selling some redundant lenses and picking one.
Haven't decided which way to go yet though.

We have a lot of brown widows. I'm guessing that was one of them. Good eye. I hadn't even spotted that!

Lots of GAS talk... Might as well add to the discussion... But rather than figuring out what to buy, I just bought it... LOL... Thx Julian for the 1Dx acquisition!!! I was at LV over the weekend and visited my friend Michael who's the display manager at Niketown... He asked me to take a capture of their Kevin Durant shoe display... I'll post that up tomm... But I did get paid $50 Nike GC for my services... Hehe...

:)

PS. Thx again Julian!!! 1Dx is working out just fine, thus far!!!
