Yeah... it's an affliction that I have. I need an intervention.

Hm... I'd have to "borrow" someone's A7Rii first to try it out in low-light.

I often shoot at f/1.2-1.4 at iso 6400-12800 indoors at 1/250s (so that I can better keeper rate at freezing my can't-seem-to-hold-still kids). EVFs of the past have done TERRIBLY in those conditions.

Don't get me wrong, I really love what Sony's packing into the camera. IBIS and the great sensor. But I'm not sure it's quite there yet.

Good thing is, since Sony pumps out a new model annually, I think the A7Rv might just be the one for me.

I think you need a get together with me and Charlie. I'm due for a shoot in Santa Monica or the South Bay soon (haven't been up there in ages). Just say when and we can work something out.

It's contagious too. We all have it in this thread.

Some samples for you Julian:

AF with the Canon EF 70-200/4 IS (no hunting).

ISO 2000. No NR applied.
My niece in action.

And one shot at the park yesterday with the EF 70-200/4 IS USM using AF-C (the equivalent of AF Servo).

And one more item to mention that I wish Canon would add to their cameras for anyone taking pics of kids (or family members): Eye AF.
Charlie can probably speak to that more than I, as I don't usually shoot people, but it came in very handy with my niece the other day.
The Eye AF just nails it (and works with AF-C so it tracks as the kid moves around).

Sony A7RII and a bunch of lenses.

You guys are terrible influences. *covers ears/eyes* "lalalalalala"

But definitely, would be nice to meet up to shoot something. Put some of my gear to actual use.

For what you shoot, 7D2 would be my pick too, for what it's worth.

Took this yesterday at work. It was hanging on one of the trucks. Anyone know what kind this is.

That looks like the one hanging out on top of our community mailbox. The one we have has about a quarter-sized body. Pretty nasty stuff. :D
