I have always read how the STK's last as long or longer than the Canon's but I'm not seeing that with the ones I just got. Running a new STK alongside a 4 year old Canon with low recharge performance (one red bar showing) in a battery grip, I took about 800 shots. Canon showed 59% charge the STK 36%. Both batteries had a 100% charge from the factory canon charger. The STK is rated at 2600mAh the Canon 1800mAh. I have moved on a camera that uses the LP-E6 batteries (70D) but went with Wasabi Power instead because the ST's didn't list being compatible with the 70D yet. I ordered the 2 battery and charger kit and only recharge OEM batteries on OEM charger and Aftermarket on their own charger resulting in Wasabi's lasting longer than Canon. Shane W

AFAIK Apple still recommends a deep cycle once a month too even with current batteries. I suppose that could help but I never had to do that before. Problem for me is that I only have 2 and run them both in the grip. When I'm going out on a shoot I charge them regardless where they are so I know they'll last.
