OP (Diver-Down)... you know what? For what it's worth, my two STK batteries experience the same as you. Guess we got the bad batch... who knows.

I have read that the latest firmware upgrade to the 5D-3 may make third-party batteries unrecognizable by the camera.

I reviewed the SterlingTek LP-E6 - http://1kindphotography.blogspot.com …lingtek-powwer-lp-e6.html (external link)

Also reviewed another batteries of theirs. I love it. Works better than OEM and lasted longer. It also works with OEM charger.

I did have an issue where the LP-E6 gave me an error saying it wasn't recognized on my 5D3 but still works. I contacted SterlingTek and they sent me a new battery overnight.

How did you contact them ? I don't see a phone number on the website.

I sent a message through the "Contact the SterlingTEK Team" page but haven't heard back from them, that was a week ago.

I've only ever heard good things about their batteries so I guess I got 2 bad ones. Would like to hear they're thoughts though.

I dont remember exactly though. I could of sworn I called them or did a online chat because they asked me where I ordered and when I told them it was Amazon, they asked for the order number and confirmed to ship to the same address.

You can try help@sterlingtek.com (external link). I did a google search and you can try this number 877-742-1700 and 505-523-6193

Do you use the Canon charger or the one from the battery mfg. ? I don't see anything on STK's website mentioning anything about using they're charger.

I have had better luck with the STK charger then I have with the cannon charger. The canon didn't always seem to charge them fully, but haven't had that issue with the stk's. So you might want to get one and try it.

Mine do read 100% in the camera after charging but still might be worth a try. I'm gonna try to get ahold of STK first though to see what they say.

Got them over a year ago. Use them in 7D and 5D3. 5D3 seems to be more sensitive to those batteries. I just continue to use my OEM Canons (even though they're red in condition) and reserve STK as backups in the bag.

I suppose that could help but I never had to do that before. Problem for me is that I only have 2 and run them both in the grip. When I'm going out on a shoot I charge them regardless where they are so I know they'll last.

I work with four. And two Canon chargers so I just charge them side by side very quickly.

Talked to STK customer service today. I explained my issue and he said it sounds like I got 2 defective batteries and that he will ship me 2 new batteries and a charger right away. Said their charger vs OEM doesn't really matter but he'll send one anyway. Can't complain about the service that's for sure.

So the numbers I provided work. And for those who need to call, which one did you call?

Gotta love their customer service!
