Now this ain't a religious post. Those ain't allowed. But whenever we get together with my wife's family, the first few words of my title are recited before we eat, as in Grace.

So I fully subscribe to the fact that life is good. Death sucks. And I realize these are first world problems, but it is what it is.

So my pet peeve this Sunday morning is:

Why the hell don't manufacturers put their name on AC adapters? I've got so friggin many, I can't figure out what item they power.

Now it takes one to be anal to label theirs and so I'm demanding the manufacturers do it. I'm looking at a slim AC adapter that just came with a product I bought. I don't even remember which product, damn it.

And I collect flashlights. Some have internal battery packs and so need AC chargers. Recently I tried at least 5 before finding the correct one. And most fit into the receptacle, but didn't make the charging light glow.

So what's your pet peeve?

Why every AC charger needs to use a different power cable connector on (the adapter side of) the AC cord, thereby requiring its own AC cord.

Why every RAW convertor has to be specially adapted for every new pixel count sensor as a manufacturer releases new models of cameras...it ought to be possible to make every RAW file have a preamble which TELLS the RAW convertor the size of the pixel array and RGGB pixel arrangement so software can automatically adapt itself to the layout of the new sensor.

My similar pet peeve, especially as I grow older, it tiny raised text on electronic items that is the same color as the item itself. If the adapter (or whatever other device it is) is back, why can't the text be white instead of black?

Young engineers who think everyone else thinks as they do continue to produce products that could be much more user friendly than they are.

Mister, I have somewhere around 500 power adapters of various volt/amp combos, left over from the year that I was refurbishing computers and peripherals for a non-profit. Some are labelled, most are not.

My gripe is that my Canon P&S battery charger has the plugs built into the charger. Yet my DSLR still has a cord that has to be plugged into the charger. Not sure if the newer Canon DSLR's still use this form of charger though...

My 7D's charger plugs directly into the wall, no cord.

My Lowepro nature trekker is green. F-Stop bags come in blue, green and black. Do you want a fashion statement or a comfortable pack for carrying your gear?

Power strips designed like 'A', so that you cannot plug in multiple wall warts, one next to the other.

Pet peeves? Folks constantly moaning about every tiny little thing ...............

Phil ǁ Kershaw Soho Reflex: 4¼" Ross Xpres, 6½" Aldis, Super XX/ABC Pyro in 24 DDS, HP3/Meritol Metol in RFH, Johnson 'Scales' brand flash powder. Kodak Duo Six-20/Verichrome Pan. Other odd bits over the decades, simply to get the job done - not merely to polish and brag about cos I'm too mean to buy the polish!

They're pretty common but you still run in to the issue of whether the outlets are far enough apart to allow larger wall warts to fit on adjacent outlets. I have a couple APC UPS units and they're all like B but then they have some outlets with extra spacing around them to handle the obnoxiously large adapters out there.

Wall warts. Why not put the transformer in the device. Or put it partway down the cord.

Both, I mountain bike a lot and have a couple of great looking outdoor/cycling backpacks from various manufacturers, they serve a purpose and look great at the same time, haven't found it in camera backpacks - However, I'm just looking at the F-Stop bags and they look superb, I'll have to see if they're available outside of the US.
