Historic Sports Racing (HSR) annual 3-day event.
SVRA runs a similar event at VIR called the Heacock Gold Classic.
I haven't been to Road Atlanta, especially for an event of this nature.
I don't know what spectator photography is like, given creds are out of the question, based on freelance status and no prior Road Atlanta experience - RA media rules.

So, just looking for some info in advance, before making the hike.

Thanks

You can still get lots of great shots at RA without a media pass. The fence is low in most locations, and you can walk most of the track from either side.

Road Atlanta is my home track, its great for photos. You wont have any trouble finding good spots. Also the Mitty has a lot of cool classic and modern race cars and anything in between. God willing, I will definitely be there.

I was there the last 2 years, and I'd have to say it's one of the best historic motorsports events on this side of the US. I got a pass this year and finally got my dream shots.

Road Atlanta is great without cred's. The only shots you will not get are T1 and the walk up the hill to T2/3 on drivers left. It's a morning shot. But at night, during PLM, it's great for long exposures with streaking red lights going down the hill. Watch out for snakes anywhere off track!! The rest of the track is pretty much open. One of the few in the country with this much access. But now NASCAR has taken over the ALMS, who knows how long that will be the case. Look how they disfigured once beautiful Watkins Glen!

And MIS in Michigan. The first thing they did was eliminate Moss's Corner. Then they eliminated the whole road course.

Have been to a couple, last one went with my father in-law and he had reserved an electric cart, got around faster and got more keepers. Lots of spots to shoot from.
