Just got this new flash haven't really had time to play with it yet . But it seems that the timing is off between the flash and my 1d MIII. Is there a way to sync the two together. Any help would be appreciated...

Are you shooting at a SS faster than 1/200 or 1/250? Might be going past the sync speed of your camera. Try setting the flash to HSS mode.

Are you shooting it on camera or off? Do you have a picture to post as an example of what you are experiencing?

Can you describe what you think is out of sync? The flash fires after the first shutter opens and then the second curtain closes. The only thing you can change is set it to second curtain sync which causes the flash fire not to fire after the first curtain opens but just before the second curtain closes.

Then there is HSS like mentioned.

Set the shutter to 15 seconds and while in normal mode, not second curtain sync or HSS and take a shot and pay attention to the sequence.

I presuming '1/15 sec.', not '15 seconds', as I see no purpose served by having shutter open for 15 seconds!

To the OP, it would benefit us for you to post a photo showing what you think is going awry with your flash photo, and if the original EXIF data is not stripped off (not 'save for web') it would help us to diagnose.

Good point. Even @ 1/15 it is pretty fast if you are not used to it. I agree 15 is a little on the long side. Just wanted to be sure the OP could follow the sequence. Somewhere in between and closer to 1/15.
