2lenses only for a wedding shoot

If you had 5Dmk3 two bodies (knowing that you can bump up ISO if needed) and only had the choose of two lenses for a wedding shoot what would they be?
I am thinking that the 70-200 2.8 and the 24-70 2.8 should do the trick.. Anyone thinking/using the same or completely different?

I would do 16-35mm 70-200mm.

I like challenges therefore I'd go primes.

35mm + 85mm.

Having said that the model answer for your question is 35mm (either the L or Sigma) + 70-200II.

14mm and 400mm 2.8. You can either brenzier or crop to get anything you want.

Seriously though, I think 24-70 2.8L + 70-200 2.8L is the most popular. There is no best as it's simply too subjective.

70-200mm 2.8L

50mm 1.2L

24L & 70-200L

I used to shoot weddings with a Pentax 67 and a 105 (long normal for that format). I had a 55 in case it was needed but avoided it if possible. I always thought changing lenses got in the way. You would be amazed at what can be done with one lens if you know it well.

That said, I would probably go for 24-70 and 70-200. But another interesting combination would be 24-105 and 16-35.

Really depends on your style and your assignment. Since I'm the assistant (#2), I'm usually in charge of taking the "standard" shots with a mix of some candid photos of the people as well. Currently, I'm using a 24-70 and a 100mm f/2 though I'm considering upgrading the 100mm f/2 to a 135mm f/2 or a 70-200 f/2.8.

If I were free-er (meaning I can be the #3 guy and just shoot the things the other two weren't covering), I might consider a 50mm + 135mm combo or the famed 35mm + 85mm combo as well...it's just that, I need one zoom at least...for now.

Question for op is: why 2?
getting 2 of the 24-70? consider backup lenses? if you drop the 24-70? u seriously cannot take photo of people closer. I can see that you do have lots of lenses.
I learnt that different part of the wedding, slightly different lenses come into action.
learnt to know your gear and the amount of space available.

I'm not a wedding photographer, but I couldn't imagine doing a wedding without a long enough lens to capture the ceremony at a respectful distance.

I would think the 24-70 and 70-200 would be about as good a pairing as one could achieve for events. If it were me, I'd still want one of the portrait primes for capturing the couple.

the answer would be dependent on which part of a wedding and what type of wedding but if those info are not available i would go with 16-35 and 100L
