Was unable to catch this guy in flight; light was pretty bad so my SS speed was too slow. 70-200 w/ 2(x) tele on a 60D

Nice shots. Those iridescent feathers are really something when they face you, especially on overcast days when the sunlight doesn't blow them out.

Shooting hummers in flight is a little different from shooting other birds (in my opinion). I sit close to the feeder/flowers (within 5' with my 70-200), have the camera near my face, and wait. Silent mode, usually single shot AF, center point. When they drink from a feeder, they often take a sip, back off for a moment, then go in for more. I aim to where I think they'll back off to, so all I have to do is make a minor adjustment, focus and shoot. When they're feeding from flowers, you just have to follow their movements a little more.
