Which UWA to my new job?

I have got a job as a photographer at a local business. My mission is to photograph the nightlife inside the pubs but also outdoor and everyday photography. I have long wanted to buy a wide angle to my APS-C (70D) camera and will now do so, but which one? I would like to use it in the job but also in my private landscape and nature photography.

I have these two options:
Tokina AT-X 11-16/2.8 DX (complete, used, 3months warranty) 640 USD
Sigma 10-20/4-5.6 (NY, 5 year warranty) 480 USD

What do you think?

I think the 11-16 is too narrow and too narrow a range. The 10-20 is too slow. A better body for the nightclub stuff is the 6D. Couple it with a 35 f/2, 50 f/1.4 and perhaps an 85 1.8 and you are good for nightclubs. Add a 24-105, or 28-135 for the daytime stuff and you should be well equiped.

Okay thank you but a 6D is not on my shoppinglist now

Have you considered the Sigma 18-35? It is more expensive than your other options. Or the Canon 10-22, which is a bit faster than the Sigma 10-20? Just tossing out ideas.

I've the 18-35 in my mind but it's not so wide, I can get Sigma 50/1.4 + 10-20/4-5.6 for the same price as 18-35

Fast and wide is a problem for subframe bodies. The 11-16 2.8 may be your best bet.

The sigma 10-20 is a great lens. It's great for lanscapes. I also use mine for long exosures of night sky. Problem is you need fast for indoors, low light pub scene unless you are using flash. I haven't used mine with flash, but would expect flash isn't wide enough without modifications. Just my 2 cents.

i owned the 11-16 and it was a phenomenal lens except for the propensity to flare, Tokina has since come out with a version 2 however i have not heard if the flare issue has been resolved. if this is not an issue then i would suggest you consider this lens as it fits your needs of fast and ultra wide.

Why are you not considering the Canon 10-22 f3.5-f4.5? Faster than the Sigma and more range than either one. The best flare control of the lot. $649 new in the US.

i assume you're using a flash with either for the indoor nightlife shots?...in that case speed really doesn't matter at all...and if you don't already have a flash, buy the sigma and a flash

I disagree, it still matters. 2.8 will be able to gather a whole lot more ambient, 1-2 stops.

The 11-16mm F2.8 Tokina is great. The issue is going to be flare from lights in pubs/clubs/etc. If you are ok with watching for that and angling around it if it shows up, then this lens will do the job very well for you. Build quality is absolutely phenomenal. Very sharp. Easy to focus. Performance is really, really good. But it's heel, is the flare control. So if you're willing to be mindful of light sources making a flare (keep hood on obviously), it will do low light shots very well. It's my go-to ultrawide on my crop.

Have you considered:

Sigma 20mm F1.8
Canon 20mm F2.8
Samyang 14mm F2.8
