Hi, i purchased a canon 4ti , and would like to buy a few quality lens for it, i plan in the future to buy a more pro canon body, not sure which model yet, but would like to make sure the lens i buy now fit the upgraded full frame body. Will the ef or ef s lens fit all canon DSLR bodys? And if so, will i get the full range of these lens. Hope this makes sense.

You 4Ti can use any EF or EF-S lens but a full frame Canon camera can't use one of the EF-S lenses.

If the full frame camera is out there in the future, it would make more sense to buy the best lenses for your 4Ti now. Lenses retain most of their value over time if you handle them carefully.

You can see the lenses I have in my signature. I only have the three and they work well, though I just started taking photographs of birds and am saving up for a longer telephoto lens.

Another high quality EF-S lens would be the Canon EF-S 17-55 f/2.8. It doesn't have the range of my 15-85 but it is much better in less than stellar lighting.

My two cents. You'll get lots of differing opinions. There is no one correct answer for you, unfortunately. It will depend on the what you shoot, etc.

Yes. If you purchase the lens at a decent price it will hold its value quite well. If you purchase used, you may not lose anything in the time that you own it, some have even profited. It doesnt make any sense for you to get the wrong lens to use for a couple of years because of a camera you may purchase down the road.

What lens(es) do you already have, and what type of photography do you do?

Gear: Canon R10, Canon RFS 18-150, Canon RF 100-400

It's all about what you want to shoot.

That said, a friend was in a similar position, and went with the 18-55is and 55-250is.
Both are EFS and plastic fantastic, but they allow him to explore photography and learn what draws and interests him.
This way he can invest in nice lenses later at the focal length that interests and fulfils his photography.
As both are plastic kit, the cost of the learning exercise is low, especially opposed to making expensive mistakes in unsuitable purchases at "L" level.
