Top Macro Lens

I've done a search and came up with confusing amounts of The Top Macro lens for super close detail, and also different picks for different body's. I have a 70-D 2nd Gen and have about a grand to spend. It would be great to hear a consensus on a good setup.Ive tried Tubes, and a Macro kit +1 +2 +3 +4 magnifiers
I want to see the Pores on Frogs Face or count the eyes on a Arachnid
Also Has anyone done any Time lapse Macro?

Sounds like you need the Canon MP-E 65mm 1-5X.

any macro lens will achieve that but if you want to to shoot juvenile springtails you will be better off with the MP-E65 and a good flash system.

Definitely the MP if you want the "best" for ultra-close Macros...

However, that lens is a pretty "specialized" lens, whereas if you want to grab a lens for more general-purpose shooting but that also is an excellent macro lens, well, the Canon 100 f/2.8 IS lens has a great reputation!

Just know that your "general-purpose" macro lenses will allow you to get close and will deliver shots that yield a "1x magnification" of the subject onto the sensor, but the MP will deliver up to a 5x magnification!
