Im sure this has been asked a lot. What would everyone recommend for a combo landscape and portrait lens. Only want to spend 500-600. Im shooting with a 7d and 70d. Currently have a 10-20 and 70-200 2.8. Looking for something in between. Any opinions?

On a crop sensor camera I would highly recommend the following:

EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 - This is a wonderful ultra-wide angle lens
EF-S 17-55 f/2.8 IS

I own both and use them on my T4i. The 10-22mm is great for landscapes, the 17-55mm is great for portraits, and the two teamed together are an unbeatable pair for most any situation.

For landscape and portrait, the Canon 17-55 is an excellent choice.

I personally would stick with EF lenses as you may decide to go full frame one day. Therefore, 17-40 f/4 gets my vote. If you find yourself shooting at the longer focal lengths, perhaps the 24-105 f/4 should be considered.

If low light portraits are your thing, you may want to stick with 2.8 lenses.
