I was in on the pre-order as well. halfway through the series. More good stuff from Zack.
I agree with above, not all new info, but his presentation helps me learn more than I did before.

Scored a LumoPro LP160 on ebay last week for $67, nice flash unit.

Is anyone having a problem downloading the gear section ? I've been able to get everything but that one. When the gear section happened to finish downloading, when I tried to unzip the file it said the zip file was invalid.

I'm using a Win 7 box with all current updates. I find it interesting that just this section is causing me problems.

Call me old fashioned at times, but I still like a hard copy DVD type.

Bumping this as I just finished watching it.

2.5/5 IMO

You can learn the basics of off camera manual flash off YouTube for free, and beyond that the content is simply "place the light somewhere, at some power and adjust after looking at the back of your camera".

7 or 8 hours on content that could easily be condensed into a 30min video. Sorry, but that's the cold hard truth.

Perhaps you were farther along than the intended audience.

A lot of time was spent on basic speedlights, strobes, how to support them, their modifiers and other basic knowledge. This won't be helpful to anyone that already knows the subject matter but benefits those that don't a lot.

More time was spent on exposure and the effect distance between the subject and the light has on it. The effect of distance to light fall off across a subject was discussed and demonstrated. These topics are definitely more useful for some than others.

He taped three sessions, one in the studio, one indoors on location and one outdoors on location, offering advice on each.

There was a lot of content. Some of it seemed to move slow but it's hard to keep the right pace for everyone. There's a lot to offer someone new to or intermediate in studio lighting.

50% of the content, no joke, is Aris on a "live" shoot, putting the light wherever at a random power and going to work.

The "how flash works" stuff is free on YouTube. There's no need to pay $50 or whatever for it.

The Strobest workshop kill this.

I finally got a chance to view ZA Onelight 2.0. I wasnt very impressed - I had enjoyed watching the Version 1 a lot more than Version 2.
Perhaps version 1 had a more emotional feel to it?
