This is my new nephew. He is only eight days old and decided to do a little shoot yesterday.
I have to give to the baby photographers. Even though I have to kids handling a baby was a whole different ball game for a photo shoot. I couldn't get some of the poses because his body wouldn't do what we want him to. Before the shoot I watched some you tube videos and those people made bending the baby in to a pose look easy.

Anywho here are a few that I edited. I know skin tones are all over the place, I'll be calibrating my monitor soon.

Beautiful! LOOOVE the first one, I'm going to have to use that idea! Wonderful soft lighting and shallow depth of field in the sleeping shots. Well done!

Thank you very much. Yeah feel free to use the idea since it wasn't originally mine to begin with. Lol.

I saw it online while searching for some ideas for this shoot.

Very nice. my favourite is No. 5 as this looks more polished than the others. I think the exposure is better and the blanket/ background are not as distracting.

Love the colour, but would also like to see this in a high contrast B&W conversion. Think it would really stand out.

Thanks everybody. :)

I did 13'x19' print of this and framed it, and parents were super happy with it. Mission accomplished.

Thank you. :)

All of them were shot with two speedlights. One in a softbox, camera left almost above the baby and the second one placed near his head bouncing off a white umbrella and bouncing back from white backdrop.

Im still learning the softbox on my 430. Amazing the results you can get by changing the bounce angles

Good job on the newborn images. The first one could be done with wooden cubes which have letters engraved on them instead of adding letters later. It looks much more natural and nice. Look at these in any toy store. Wooden letter cubes.

Newborn portraits are not easy to make but you got a calm baby I guess and produced good images.

Cheers,
