550D video stopped recording automatically?

As per title. Even after formatting my card. Whats wrong? It stops after 5 secs.

What class card do you have? It needs to be 6 or higher, preferably class 10.

Try a different card from a reputable source. There are many counterfeit cards in the marketplace that work ok for images but fail doing video.

I solved this problem in my 550D by getting rid of the SDXC class 10 card and switching to SDHC class 10 , it also works best when formated in Fat32 . There's something about the XC card the camera just doesn't like .

According to the manual, the 550D (T2i) is supposedly compatible with SDXC card technology. However, the SDXC cards by default use a file system called exFAT which is different than FAT32, the file system used by SDHC cards.

One thing you might try is a format of the card done in camera in accordance with Canon's recommendations. That should insure a file system structure compatible with the camera.
