As above - I'm facing the same problem whenever I play with my raw files in programs such as Oloneo photoengine (above) or PTGui. When I convert into TIFF/JPEG first, the problem disappears. When I work in Lightroom, the RAW files appear okay though.

i can be sure it's not the problem with the files itself, because they work just fine on my laptop (with the same software).

anyone had the exact same issue before? how do i resolve it? (have tried reinstalling the software but to no avail).

thanks!

What camera? If it is a new model, these programs may not yet support raw conversion for that camera model. Check the website of the applications that are affected to see if they list camera compatibility for direct raw conversion.

They probably use some form of dcraw and the current version of your software may not be up to date with the latest decoding. Did you try updating your software? If it is the latest version, you may just have to wait for the developer to update.

As Kirk said, pink usually equals unsupported Raw file, and sometimes you get pink only in highlights.

I acquired an expensive camera so I can hang out in forums, annoy wedding photographers during formals and look down on P&S users... all the while telling people it's the photographer, not the camera.

I use DPP which comes with the camera to convert the RAW's into TIFF/aRGB files, these files can be read by Photoshop and I imagine most other post processing software without issue.

Pink-only highlights usually mean something different - typically that the sensor saturation point (blown highlights) is not correct in the raw conversion.

See this explanation of magenta highlights:

Scroll down to the section called "Sensor Saturation Level" if you do not want to read this very informative article about dcraw.

Ok, I've seen them before so I figured it might be something similar, thanks for the link.
