1970 Plymouth Superbird, in parking lot, daily driver?

This past Tue we arrived at WDW EPCOT at about 8:45am. While walking in, I came
across this. It looked proper with the badges, vinyl roof, shock towers and so on. It
has Minnesota plates, and one unique feature that made me think it was a daily
driver. Look closely at the pictures and the wacky accessory that I spotted.

A trailer hitch on that is just wrong! I'm betting that it's a clone.

The splash guards are pretty tacky also.

Nice find & if it's a clone I'd like to know what the donor car(s) looked like. Cars usually get wrote off because of major damage to the front or rear where those donor parts would come from & a legit rust bucket usually gets reworked or re-bodied these days.

Hey....it's from the mid west....farming country. My FIL had a '66 Meteor (full size Mercury) with a 428 FE V8...345 hp...trailer hitch and he ran it on purple (farm vehicle only) gas. On the Canadian prairies and American plains in the mid west and west...even high performance vehicles have to be ready to pitch in and pull a hay wagon every so often.

those things go for big bucks in good condition these days. I'm surprised to see one sitting in a parking lot like that.

also has a nav unit on the dash... maybe the hitch is to drag other toys to shows lol

The gaps on the front headlights are way off. I am saying clone all the way. Still not a bad one. but fit and finish isn't there.

Even if it's a clone, I'd treat it better than to put a trailer hitch on it... sheesh.

ive seen documented cars with crappy headlight alignment...

No doubt a 1970 Plymouth Satellite with all the right trim.

Epcot is right around the corner from Celebration and the Old Town Cruise In and car show on Saturdays, maybe he wanted to hit Epcot on the way to the cruise in...lol

I'm not an expert on these, but the Superbird rear window is smaller and this one looks correct. You can buy all the repro parts for a clone though, including the aftermarket hood it has with a '70 Coronet R/T hood scoop. It also has both 426 Hemi hood AND fender emblems. A perfect example with a Hemi just sold at auction for $500,000, but pre-auction estimates for another one are $275,000 - $375,000.
