HI folks
i believe I am ready to "jump into the water" of the Lee square/rectangular filters.
I have seen many people suggesting only getting strengths of the ND/GND filters of 3 stops, but I was wondering if people found that they had also a need for 2 stops...
I am looking at
ND 3 (0.9) + 4 (1.2) + 10 stops
GND 3 (0.9) + 4 (1.2) stops (soft)
holder + 77mm WA ring (10-22), and 72mm WA (85 1.2II, S18-35)

I was thinking of doing the Schneider 4mm glass way - but it just seems that it is just too pricey...

would you replace the 4 stops with a 2 stop? would you ADD a 2 stop?

many thanks

Try one of those ND filters, they are glass 4mm

For CPL, you can use same brand of above, but also they have 4mm thick filters

Big Stopper is one choice

GND, if you will use ND then go with 2 stops GND, i am sure you will go with either 2 or 3 stops ND, so combining with 2 stops GND you will end up with 4-5 stops for bright sky or spots.

Now i am using 4x4 LEE CPL, LEE 0.6 ND[I have also that Cavision 4mm filters 3 & 5 stops], B&Y GND [3 & 4 stops] glass filters soft edges, all those are glass, i am giving up my resin filters but i will keep 2, LEE 0.9 HE GND and SinghRay 0.6 Reverse ND filter.

I would get rid of the 4 stop ND and add a CP if you need the intermediate density. The Lee 4" square CP can be used in tandem with these other filters if needed. For the GND I would start with a 3 stop hard and 2 stop soft and add more as you get experience.
While I have not tried them, here is a recommendation for the Haida ND filters, far less color tint than Formatt prostop or Lee Big Stop:
