I am a wildlife guy that has been occasionally playing with landscapes.

This is an 11 shot pano of the Catalina Mountain range.
I shot 11 vertical shots (handheld) and merged them in PSE10.
I'm not so great at post processing these though so its mostly straight out of camera
converted from RAW with a small bump in contrast and saturation.

Thank you both.
The Flickr compression really kills the shot.
Its very clear and detailed when viewed in light room and Photoshop.

Good work on this. I'll be visiting Tucson in just over a week, and will drive into the Catalina's.

Yeah, you caught the light right with this one.

Your'e much steadier than I am with you holding technique to be able to create a pano out of that many hand held shots!

You might not like the Flickr image, but it show up very well on my monitor. The larger image compared to the smaller one here show much better.

Wow, so beautiful. ;) It really makes me want to start doing pano. I still haven't tried that.

Great pano there, Jeremy! Would love to see how it looked at a decent size; the default there on Flickr looks quite good, and I'd imagine that it really looks great even larger. Being able to see the cactus in the shot really helps the foreground and the image overall.

Thanks everyone. I'm thinking I need to get a bit more serious with landscape but wildlife is just too fun.

Very nice Jeremy!

To me, this shot looks fine, but I do know what you mean about Flickr messing with the shots we take. I see yours and think that they look good, but only 'you' know what they really look like, so it's (probably) nowhere near as bad what you feel it is.
That is a very good panoramic, I love to do them, but don't live close to an area to get good ones like that. The cools and the warms in this shot makes it very unique to me, and while Flickr is not good for that, other places are.
Try using http://www.nextlook.com/ (external link), it's a good free place that allows LARGE shots that you need to show. It's not good (in my opinion) for ALL of one's shots, but for those that need to show them in a larger size, it sure is a good place to have.

With all of the places that you (probably) have near you, it'd almost be a crime to not get into landscape photography too! :)
