Affordable octocopter capable of carrying a 5d?

What is the best (most reliable) octocopter on the market which can carry a 5d? I am looking to spend around $5000-$10000...

Which features should I look for when I am looking around for an octocopter?

I would like to use it for video and still photography.

You know the 5D doesnt do video.

Gotcha. I would think for video a go-pro would make more sense though. The benefits of video from a DSLR (mainly low light and shallow DOF) would be negated by using the drone.

+1 on that advice, the price you have to pay to get a good quality copter to carry that heavy of a payload reliably is going to be more than your budget. If you are not currently flying these then you will need some practice, a smaller quad desiged to carry the GoPro is where I would start. But if you got the dough this is what you need.

I would look at getting a GoPro sized rig to start with to learn to fly, then move onto a DSLR size rig after. Most of the DSLR setups I've seen have been Hex copters, I can't help you to much with specific brands/products but make sure you look at battery life with the amount of weight you are planning on running, and make sure it's got a good gimbal mount for the camera.

I see! However resolution and color rendition may be different. I would love to have RAW images and footage from the camera.

I wouldnt have any resolution fears for video. They have been using the high end go pro's for network television productions with some impressive results.

DJI makes some amazing setups. Makes sure to start small. it'd suck to crash a 6K copter with 5K of camera and lenses.

some of the medium copters can carry mirrorless cameras lighter and way cheaper rig for about the same quality
