Hey all. I am sad to say that i have to sell my beloved 5d mark iii. Having major vehicle issues and unfortunately the extra cash will be a great help.

Anyway, once all this passes I will obviously be looking for another body. Til then i will keep you posted on the decision process.

Thanx

Sorry to hear this! The good news thought is that your love for photography won't change, even with a lesser-priced camera body. And on the bright-side, look at it this way: even though your new camera body may have less features, it's the photographer that makes the image...so use this as an opportunity to push your creativity to new heights and still produce wonderful images!

Heya,

Look at this as a great opportunity to get an older camera that isn't as good as the 5D3. A used XTi for example, clocks in for dirt cheap. Do some photography for a while with a junker clunker and perhaps it will give you new perspectives in regards to using a $3000+ camera and what your true needs are. Might help steer your decision for when you buy a modern camera in the future.

Sucks to have to part with something you like; but then again, from your previous posts, it always sounded like you didn't need the 5D3 anyways and would have done fine, if not better, with a 6D or even less.

Good luck and hope you get a new camera soon! Seriously, look into a used early crop, they are dirt cheap and take great photos!

Very best,

Thanx! It was just the logical step to sell the 5d for money reasons. I was slowly learning and using the features that i didnt try before. This is the most expensive thing i could sell quickly. Rather would not part with it though. :(

I'm sorry things are tight, I know how that is.
If you wanted to keep shooting, you could pick one of these up.

Thanx, honestly i think i am going to hold out for another full frame. I love the iq of full frame cameras plus the low light capability. Will be looking for one much later down the road.

Tough break and good luck. Unfortunately I know what you're going through as I sold my 1ds miii to help with one of my kids car replacement. Luck shown down on me from above though when I got a break of $5000 I didn't expect and went looking for another body and some lens.

My sister, the professional baker and cake decorator once told me that my camera takes great pics. My reply was that I thought her oven baked great cakes.
