Once again I am displaying a bird that I can't quite identify. I searched and can't seem to find a woodpecker with the red on his head and chin like this guy has. He is about 7 or 8 inches tall. He looks a little ragged, but I assume that is winter plumage.

I'd say you have a very nice, Yellow-bellied Sapsucker there, Joel :) If you look closely, up to the right of its head you can see the small holes (2-ish) that these guys are known for; looks like it's just started on this tree. Normally, you'll see rings of those holes around the trunk and main branches of the trees these guys find as "favorites"

Thank you guys. Wow, that was a quick ID. So is a sapsucker still considered a woodpecker?

They all, willingly, slam their skulls into trees to find food; so yes :D
