Going to Aruba in a few weeks for family vacation. Kind of torn between which body to take. I am bringing my olympus e-p3 for the walking around body but for the more challenging shots like wildlife, action, sunrises and sunsets etc debating between crop or full frame. I am leaving the primes at home so my zoom lens is going be the 70-200L f4. On my 40D I have the 15-85 and on the 5D2 I have the 24-105. I would hate to leave the full frame at home just for the fact that this is my first time anywhere tropical but on the other hand should I sacrifice the difference in image quality for reach of the crop? Trying to travel as light as possible and bringing my micro 4/3rds eliminates the need for the second back up body. I also have the 1D mark2 but its too heavy for vacation i think. Any thoughts?

You need to ask yourself why you bought your camera gear in the first place. Aruba would produce some fine photo opportunities...why on earth would you even think of not taking your best gear with you?

Do you have better opportunities for great images in your backyard?

Also take your tripod and polarizer filter as well as GND filters if you use them.

Do you have a circular polarizer filter you need one the sun light is very hard, even
for the contrast on the white sand beaches
Be aware that sunrises and sunsets are very quick in time set, so you loose
the light very quickly. Lived for 8 years on Curacao /Aruba. A travel tripod is a
handy thing to capture the sea in motion on the beautiful beaches
Don't know if it's your thing but there are some beautiful rare birds so a 70-200
is a good option ,maybe tc 2.0/1.4 .
Also be aware of the wind on the beaches the sand will be everywhere you don't
won't it to be (body/lens gear.)

That's it, I'm bringing both. Don't have 1.4 converter so the crop body will be handy for the wildlife.
