I actually have the Canon backpack bag ($40) and it carries a ton of gear with out being huge. I had a smaller bag, but I hated having to decide which gear to carry or leave at home.
I have four lenses, my YN flash, YH triggers and my T3i and although not light, it is not too bad to carry. If fact, it goes with me everywhere.

Be careful with that canon backpack. They have a sneaky tendency for the zippers to come open during a load. If I were you I would get a small carabiner to lock the zipper pulls together. Hearing a $900 lens hit the pavement is a sick sound.

I actually make sure to zip them all the way to one side or another. I was warned by a friend that if you zip them to the top of the bag, they do have a tendency to open over time and that would be devastating to me with some of my lenses in the bag.
But I appreciate that you wanted to warn me as well.

I tried that to, didnt help. That was when the 17-40 took the side exit.

Wow, not good. Thankfully, I have my triggers and my YN flash on the side where I have the zipper. So worst case, I would think they would be the culprit.

use the flipside bags.... pretty much foolproof since it opens towards your back instead of away from it. Sometimes I'm too sloppy to even zip it up properly.
