Hi all,

We haven't posted for awhile so I thought we could share some recent efforts with the SX50.
These shots were taken at widely varied distances, and in widely varied lighting from full sun to overcast at various times of day. All were shot hand-held at the long end of the zoom (770-1200mm) with low ISOs (80-160) and fairly slow shutters (1/250 - 1/400). The 4th and 6th images were developed from RAW; the other six were jpegs. All have been cropped to varying degrees, and finished in Photoshop.

Amazing clarity, detail and color in these Kenn. That last one is a real stunner. Thanks for including the distances, being able to focus at 5 feet is a nice plus.

I took your 6th shot and converted it to LAB color in PS and bumped the saturation to +15 (I prefer LAB for color work, convert back to RGB for web). It brought the color more in line with your last shot which I think is on the money.

I despise starlings and can't even say anything nice about a picture containing one; even when it is technically and aesthetically excellent. The rest are beautiful though! :)

I'm selling my gear. Why carry 10lbs of gear when I can carry one.

Superb set Kenn, I think you & Temple must have really helped the sales of the SX50 with shots like these.
