I am looking at op-tech straps or perhaps a black rapid strap. I like the idea of a sling strap. Currently I only have the oem strap. Haven't been able to commit on an alternative yet. ;)

For most of the time, I will only need one camera at a time. However, there are times I will need two. Has anyone every worn two sling style straps at once...like over opposite shoulders? Or has does anyone have a dual harness that they use only one camera on sometimes?

I am a 5'7" medium build female and am thinking that the dual camera harness might be too cumbersome for me.

Have a look at the Cotton Carrier vest which comes with a removable holsters, so you can use either the chest rig on its own or the holster fitted to a belt.

Thank for the input. That's quite the set up. The girly part of me is wondering how that would look with my dress clothes for an event. :P

Another option could be the Money Maker multi camera strap. Here is a thread on it:

BTW.. if you look near the bottom of the page 2 of the above thread you can see the "clone" I made. (shameless plug :>;) I can't tell you how comfortable they are.

Here is the link to the money maker strap:

I have the BlackRapid Yeti, which converts seamlessly between single and dual strap modes. Just make sure you place the unattached pieces someplace where you won't lose them. I've had the BlackRapid Sport and Sport Slim ... if you're a petite size female, then the sport slim might work better. Otherwise, BlackRapid also makes a woman's camera strap, which is a little more contoured for your assets.

For what it's worth, I'm 5' 7", 165lb, medium build male. The Yeti works for me and I couldn't be happier - except when I'm using my stylish leather Holdfast Moneymaker dual strap.

Check out the reviews on Amazon.

dual harness optech.

GREAT simplistic system. it's only $30, but will cost you more when you add in quick attachments. On the positive size, your tripod is free to mount, no need to worry about a silly bolt on the bottom coming loose either, you've got two attachment points for each camera. Fantastic discrete system that balances weight really well.

EDIT: btw, the optech is very similar to a sling strap as well, it's not like their typical neck straps.

I do like the idea not attaching to the tripod mount. I have trouble deciphering which attachments do what with the optech system. What would I need to add to the dual harness to be able to take a camera off easily?

you need 4 uniloops (external link)(2 for each camera), and that sets you back $32, making the strap cost $62.

On the positive side, it's a well proven system and can adapt to other optech straps if you choose. I really love the uniloop system, bought the Uni adapter loop (external link) for my backpack, so I can have a strap that attaches to my backpack. SO much easier to carry a strap when the straps are attached to a backpack! Large shoulder pads of the backpack make such a huge difference.

btw, the optech dual harness can also do single harness as well, but it just looks funny if you dont have a jacket on.

biggest downfall of the optech is the hidden costs which brings it up to ~60, you shouldnt use it without the quick connects.... but once that is settled, fantastic setup. Very comfortable, flexible, and doesnt flop around much. When I shoot with my sling strap, the camera tends to flop all over the place since it mounts to a single point on the tripod mount..... not the case with the optech, since it's mounted on two points. Straps are a little long, so I shorten it all the way and use gaffers tape to manage them.

I use 2 Op-Tech Slings simultaneously and am plenty pleased with them. Cheap, safe, and either camera looks/acts complete if used alone. I never spend any more time fiddling with the system. I've really reached a certain level of satisfaction with the set up. I gave up on my Sun Sniper, excessively bulky shoulder pad area and lack of grip.

Thank you. I believe I'm going with optech. Just have to decide which configuration.

You have made up your mind but just in case I thought I'd throw this in. They don't make a dual sling but I'm impressed with the connection to camera system. There is a video further down.

I tried the dual Op/Tech and immediately felt the weight of both cameras across my shoulders. I'm a guy with good shoulder muscles, but this strap was uncomfortable. I returned it to B&H. I wonder if you'd be better off with two Op/Tech standard straps crisscrossing the chest, one for each camera. The utility straps are well padded.

For me, this harness system was the best, with a very well padded yoke, but will be too bulky for events. For me in the jungle and the outback, it was invaluable. I was able to walk for hours this way and got great shots with each camera.

That's an awesome set up!

I ordered the optech dual harness this morning. :/ I'll be sure to wear it around the house with both of my cameras to see how it goes. I appreciate the tip.
