Just wondered as I really like the detail look that Lucisart has.
Any tutorials or settings I could start with ?

Topaz essentially filled a niche when Lucisart was off the market for a period of time. Its comparable, but it really depends on the image you want to match. Adjust has lots of presets, start using those and then see if that gets you in the ballpark.

There have been a number of discussions in different forums in the past about Lucis vs. Topaz, some involving challenges to duplicate the Lucis affect in Topaz.

Nobody was able to “exactly” duplicate Lucis with Topaz. However, lots of attempts could come close. And in many cases there were arguments about which one was better. Most people agreed that Topaz was close enough, good enough (or better) to make it a better choice, given the enormous difference in price.

And that was comparing only Topaz Adjust to Lucis. Since then Topaz has released Clarity and Detail. The combination of these Topaz products can create infinite variations, still at a fraction of the cost of Lucis.

I’ve spent a lot of time with both Topaz and Lucis products, and give a strong recommendation of the Topaz suite over Lucis. There is a lot of overlap in the Topaz products. Since the release of Clarity and Detail, I hardly ever use Adjust any more.

The only downside of Topaz is that their software appears to be more buggy than average, and they often release updates before they are ready for prime time. But they have good customer service (on their own forums) and are usually quick to address problems.

I think most of their bugs are with customers who have “unusual” systems. By that I mean systems with some other, lesser known software installed that creates conflicts with Topaz products. I’ve never had any serious problems with Topaz products on my Windows systems, but my systems are fairly clean and loaded with a small number of mainstream products.
