Can this flash be adjusted from the 5d Mark II camera external speedlight menu (ala Canon 580 EX II)? Also, how does it stack up to the Canon 580 EX II?

I'm about 98% confident that it can. I'm looking at picking one up myself for the HSS capability along with a set of YN-622's.

I just received mine and the menu works through my 6D. I also have a 580exII and hope to use them both this weekend

I can control a 568EXII from a 5d Mark III so it should work with a 5d Mark II. The 580EXII build quality is much superior, IMHO. Performance wise, it works fine. I use mine with the YN622C remote trigger, mainly as a fill light. Powerwise I think it's a little above the 430EXII but less than the 580EXII.

I've had problems with the 568EXII battery compartment door breaking. I'd buy a good used 580EXII over a new 568EXII. Others on this forum swear by the 568EXII, but for critical applications, I'd go Canon. Just my opinion.

This baby works like a charm, only gripe is it has no external battery attachment type deal. Carry extra batteries. (the color isn't the same as the Canons, but who cares?)
