Good first go!

I think the lighting is ok.. The white balance might be a little on the warm side for a straight up portrait like this but you get away with it..

I think what you should possibly think about working on is getting expression from your model...

Check out some videos from a guy called peter Hurley.. Especially the one entitled, it's all about the squinch...

You'll see what I mean when you see it!

hope this helps! :)

I second the advice about watching Peter Hurley.

Looks great for a first time. I think the expression works, as long as this isn't the only look :). You might want to try turning the ambient a bit brighter so the pupils aren't so large. She's got lovely eyes, but much of it is obscured by the large pupils. WB is a touch warm, which works fine , but it makes her green eyes more brown.

I have to agree with Rush and NewCreation! I was watching the Squinch video and It's all about the Jaw about 5 minutes ago and then I stopped by this section to start looking at pictures. I think you are off to a good start! I cant wait to get back in the studio!

nicely done, and I like her expression. some lipstick might have helped her avoid the dry lips look, I'd probably smooth that out a bit, but overall I like it.

If you're concentrating on faces/headshots, Peter Hurley is THE man to watch!
