Hey, all!

I recently got a query about this set of shots from back in '07, someone saw it in my PBase Web host site and wanted to know the specific ID...help!

I'm no hawk expert, but the face looks like a Northern Harrier. Geez, someone's browsing 7-year old pics, they must be enthused with your work!

Heh! It's funny because I haven't been very active with my photography, especially with my bird shooting, and haven't been putting new stuff on PBase recently, so I don't know what got their attention! But I'll have to check out that Northern Harrier suggestion, thanks!

Thanks, Steve, for the ID confirmation and for the compliment, although as one of my very early birding shoots and at a considerable distance, well, not the best but we get by:)!

So, I just registered for these boards solely with the intent of getting help identifying the Hawks in our backyard. I'm an amateur when it comes to photography, and I had to get these shots with my lens pushed through my blinds and through a dirty window. I have a lot of great (for my level of ability) shots of my other backyard birds though, that I may post just for the heck of it. Could you possibly help iD my visiting Hawks, or point me in the right direction of someone who could? Thanks!

You could start a new thread and post some pictures of them, and at least put down your general location. This helps immensely with pinning down ID's. Also read Jerry's blog on Hawkwatch International. He is very knowledgeable, and has posted a lot of good info.http://www.hawkwatch.org/blog (external link)

Wow, he does have some excellent info! I think actually have it narrowed down to two different species we have here in central Georgia. I will definitely start a thread. Thanks so much for your help!
