Just wondering what programs you use? Photoshop for everything? I've heard of programs like Noise Ninja and such.

If you use Photoshop what process do you use to reduce noise and sharpen an image more?

Noise Ninja and PK-Sharpener.

What is good about many of the programs for noise reduction and sharpening, is that you can download a demo, give it a spin and come to you own conculsions.

While Photoshop CS2 does have noise reduction, it no were near what Noise Ninja and Neat Image can do to reduce noise.

For noise reduction, Noise Ninja and Neat Image pretty much have the run on anything else. I use the Noise Ninja Pro Bundle, complete with a set of profiles I made for my 20D operating under Adobe Camera Raw 3.3. I'm delighted with the results.

There is less unanimity over programs for sharpening and resampling. I keep meaning to try out the free TLR Professional Sharpening Toolkit. I don't have any great need for upsampling, though if I found a need to upsample for printing purposes, I'd check out QImage with its pyramid algorithm ahead of expensive products like Genuine Fractals.

I just started using NoiseNinja with the 20D profiles... and it really makes a great difference!
