Hi I have a Canon T3i Camera and I was just at a book store that had all books 50% off. I found a Canon Eos Rebel T4i For dummies book and bought it , thinking I could use it for learning my t3i , now I am not so sure ??? Can someone please tell me if this book would teach me how to use the t3i and how to use all it features ? Or is the T4i a whole different Camera?
Thanks
James

Different FPS shooting / different sensor / different screen / different ISO, just to name a few. Your could download a manual off the internet for your T3i for free...

Are the menus, buttons and software the same pretty much ? Like would I learn how to master my t31 as much as I would or close to the same as if I had the T3i for dummies book? I already have the manual I really just want to learn the easy way and step by step with this book if possible? Thanks for you reply
James :)

Parts would be the same, and some parts would be different. So you might learn some new things, but then possibly get yourself confused on others. I am not sure it would be helpful.

I have never owned a Canon T3i or T4i, so I can't honestly answer that question. Your best way to learn settings is to either take a camera course / get out and shot to learn or watch some You Tube video's would be my suggestion.

Here are my thoughts...

You are better off getting a solid photography book, such as the unofficial POTN Bible, Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson. As you read a book like that which is fundamentally about photography and is camera agnostic, you will see how the settings relate to each other and the effect of the changes you make. By following along with your camera and trying out some of the things that are discussed in the book, you can see how your equipment reacts and start to get a feel for how best to use it for you and your photography.

If you understand Shutter, Aperture, and ISO, and how to use them to get the shot you want, the camera's manual itself should be enough to fill in the blanks about the specific functions of your camera.

I have found generically that a lot of those "helper" books are riddled with inaccuracies as they just copy/paste old books and don't really do a great job updating them.

Cameras: 7D2, S100
Lenses: 17-55 f/2.8 IS USM, 18-135 STM, 24-70 f/4L IS USM, 50 f/1.4 USM,70-300L IS USM
Other Stuff: 430 EX II, Luma Labs Loop 3, CamRanger
