Considering you can pick up new 5D3 for 2600-2900 right now the 7D2 better start off 1,000 less. I'm thinking 1800. Puts you right in the middle of the 5D3 and the 1099 70D

Right now I'd think they will keep the 19 point AF. Bump to 10fps. Dual card, wifi and a 24mp sensor. This will put them in line with the nikon/sony offering as top of the line aspc and give it a better jump in the FPS department along w/ the new bells and whistles in the software department.

and the high iso has to pick up to be a tad better than 70D.

Canon doesn't care what deals might exist out there (body deals where lenses were taken out, gray market, etc), they will look at their current MAP prices to their distributors, their competitor's prices for a like-featured camera, their profit margin goals, and then set the price point. The 5D3 price is currently $3400. Whatever gray market or other strange price offerings exist for the 5D3 would then also exist for the 7D2 at some point after the release, taking its "street value" down accordingly.

If it does mean a 7DII, I'll be eating crow. My bet was that they abandoned that line. For all you 7D shooters, I'll be happy to have been wrong.

If they abandoned the 7d, i would be real surprised, cause it is a great seller.
To say the least.
Give me a great sensor, clean iso , a great screen and focus and speed, i'm there for sure just as many others.

I hope I am wrong. More choice is always better.

... it just wouldn't be for me, 1200 is about my limit on a body and the 70D is perfect for my all around needs.

Where's your spirit? Canon needs our money. We wouldn't want them to go under now, would we.
