Just got the email this morning, about X-Rite's new tablet and phone calibration.

Check it out here: http://www.calibratecolor.com …_campaign=colortrue#about (external link)

I knew this was coming from a fellow photographer who beta tests x-rite stuff and was really looking forward to it.
It seriously took not even 5 min. to get it set-up and my Ipad color calibrated. I'm excited because I use my Ipad as a mobile portfolio so to get the colors just right is important to me.
What do you guys think?

You think so? I print a lot, so for me to have a calibrated monitor and printer saves time and ink. On the Ipad it's just cool so my images don't look so over-saturated on the screen.

Just think of how your work looks on other peoples monitors. Nobody is going to notice if your whites are 6300 or 6700 instead of 6500 unless they are another photographer themselves. Printing is different tho, you want total control over the output.

It's a pretty nifty system over wifi. What if you shoot for clients who want to see your images on their device? This gives the device user at least the chance of consistent color.

It's free.

I spent $400 on my color munki photo. Some say thats expensive and it is. But for me it's worth every penny. What I see on monitor is what I've been able to custom ICC my printer to and have it print. No more guessing and my prints are amazing!

Too true. There should be nothing allowed apart from glowing praise for absolutely everything.

What do you guys think?

What have you been using before this, and have you actually noticed a real improvement?

I ask as i use the Spyder IOS software with my iPAd Air, and using the viewer that comes with it i hardly see any difference going between CM and non CM. If anything its more a slight contrast difference rather than any major colour shift.
Saying that, i dont feel my iPad gets close to my IPS monitor (my Ipad 2 did), so i wonder how my these calibrators are really worth for mobile devices.

By the way, (and this is a bit off topic) i just recently found out you can change the white point of the IOS devices in the Accessibility settings, although all it seems to do is warm things up a bit, and of course if you JB the ipad you have full control over RGB.
