Will it fit a full frame (5D)? And will it fit a 40D? Thanks!!

STM is a kind of focus motor, its available on several lenses. Which lens do you mean? BTW if the name starts with EF-S it will not fit on a 5D, only EF lenses fit full frame. EF-S will fit on crops. The 40D will take both EF and EF-S lenses.

To my knowlege, the only STM lens made to fit EF bodies (full frame) is the 40mm pancake.
