Hi,
I searched and didn't find a topic on this easily. This is my first post. I am not new to photography but I am new to this camera and stepping up to a digital SLR.
When I take videos with the T4i, the audio is totally disrupted by the sound of the lens focusing and refocusing. Is there anyway to avoid this or will I end up having to buy a separate video camera? Thanks in advance for your input. Frank
Same with the T5i, and I solved the issue by going with an external microphone.
That works for a subject that is close, and I have a hand-held digital audio recorder (Zoom H1) I can use separately and then combine sound and video in post.
Right now I working on combining them, playing with the settings. You can have your external mic connected to the mic jack on the Zoom, then the line out on the Zoom connected to the mic jack on the camera to get a better quality of sound without having to sync them later.
Haven't got the settings right yet, but I know it is do-able since others out there have done the same.
Hope that helps.
