Great pictures... Thank you a lot mate.
I was thinking of buying a good tripod sometime (I got a cheap one atm not even worth mentioning)
I was looking at tvc-33 or tvc-34l (i am 5' 8.11" / 1,73m) but recently saw rrs site and saw they make series 4 tripods.

My longest lens atm is 70-200 is ii 2.8.
My deam lens is a 400mm 2.8 is usm ii and I dont think I will ever get something bigger.

I know series 3 can handle this but I want your advice.
Do you think series 4 is overkill for me??
If yes, should I go for tvc-33 which come straight to my eye level when ful extended (according to rrs pic) or go for 34l and leave room for uneven terrain conditions, big camera angles etc??

thanks a lot
Giorgos

I have the 34L and it handles my new 600mm II with no problem at all. If you don't plan on carrying it around or hiking with the tripod, and you have the money and want the ultimate, I'd get the 4 series if I had to do it again. However, I do carry mine around, go on long hikes, and the 3 series is about as big and heavy as I'd want to go.

I'm 5'-11" and I went for the 34L as you mentioned for uneven terrain and camera angles. I just received it so I haven't had a chance to use it yet.

I'm considering the RRS TVC-24L to pair with the BH-40 LR II. Not sure why you'd need the 34L.

Here is what the RRS tech guy said...

That would be a great combination and would handle up to 400mm f/4 lens and pro body.

My dream lens is a 400 2.8 not f/4.
Still 24L will handle it ok but I prefer a series 3 tripod as I wouldnt like to work on my tripod's limits.
So for me if series 4 is overkill, I am torn between tvc-33 and 34L..
thanks for the input tho guys, keep them coming ;)
